ZavaPOS / ABOUT
A till for the counter.
Not a CRM, not a marketplace, not a card processor. A point of sale for shops that sell to people standing in front of them.
Why it exists
Most retail software wants to become a platform: customer accounts, credit books, loyalty schemes, online ordering. A shop counter needs fewer things, done exactly: the right price, the right stock, the right payment reference, a receipt, and a close that matches the drawer.
What it is
ZavaPOS is a web till built on PHP 8.3 and MySQL 8.4. It runs as one isolated stack per shop. The browser is the till; the server is the authority. An optional local Zava Hub handles LAN printing and queued jobs.
What it refuses to be
- No online ordering or delivery tracking. The shop is the counter.
- No card numbers or customer portal.
- No card processing or mobile-money payouts. Payments are recorded, not moved.
- No paid marketplace modules.
How it is checked
Tax snapshots, serial duplicates, expiry blocks, charge idempotency, permission checks, staff sessions, table flows and backup/restore are covered by runnable tests. The marketing copy is checked against the same fact sheet so it does not sell features that are not there.
Licence: the combined work is GPL-3.0. ZavaPOS is the store layer and the trade packs around it.
